Transparency Is The Future Of Business

Why is being transparent important?  I have read many books on social media, business and effective communication over the past 5 years.  The common theme?  Transparency.  In the interconnected world of the 21st century,  whatever had been done in the dark will be brought to the light.    People who want to cheat customers or suppliers can’t do it anymore. Thank God!

New rules have been written and the old dinosaurs who are not smart enough to figure it out are going to be extinct very quickly.

One way for YOU to practically guarantee that you make more money in your business is to improve the relationship with your site visitors/blog readers.  And being more transparent about your business and your own life is one way to do it.

You may have some PRIVACY concerns and it’s definitely something to think about before you start sharing anything.  I’ve been pretty much a paranoid freak during the past 10+ years of marketing online.  I rarely posted any photos of myself or anything to do with “my life” because I had privacy concerns.

But I’m slowly but surely getting over it.  I know that in order for my business to thrive I’m going to have to become more transparent.  Business today practically demands it.  (Or will very soon.)

So follow me on Facebook or Twitter.  Check our my photostream on Flickr.  I am investigating a nice FlipHD camera so I can post videos to Youtube almost instantaneously.

My business is your business.

I want to be the content in your life.  And please trust me,  with the crazy things I have to put up with, you are going to be very entertained.

I couldn’t agree with this more!

My sister in law is a teacher and has MAJOR privacy concerns about social networking sites, so much so that she refuses to join FB which, since the move, is the only way she could really stay connected with us. :( Basically, it comes down to living your life uprightly, doing what is right and just. For her as a teacher, for you as a businessman, for me as a homeschooiing mom, what are you afraid of people finding out about you if you are living your life beyond reproach??

I never thought about it before as being an aid to successful business practice, but it makes sense. I know that I am more inclined to patronize businesses with a website, and a good one at that! The more they seem to share about their own story, the more I am drawn to the business owners and my loyalty increases.

Thanks for sharing this!
