Reading the Ear Tag
This is a Joey using the Gallagher Smart Reader to record the information on the RFID eartag. Simple enough an 8 year old can do it.
After the day’s work was done, I connected the Smart Reader to my desktop, compiled the information and sent it off to the CCIA website. Voila!! Our calves were all age verified.

It was a beautiful November day today. We had planned to ear tag our calves with the CCIA ear tags today so we were extremely pleased.
Mike has an ear tag in the ear tagger and is tagging the calf with his/her permanent ear tag. The tag is a small electronic RFID tag that allows us to use a reader to get all his information and to completely track the animal in our new computer system.
